May 17 - 19, 2019 – Resaca, GA - Battle of Resaca
The 155th Anniversary "Battle of Resaca" reenactment will be held on over 650 acres of the original battlefield in Resaca, Georgia. This reenactor-friendly event will have main camps located within the original US and CS lines. Campaigners are welcome to camp in or near the breastworks. Amenities include straw, hay and firewood; modern food and ice vendors on site. The Federal reenactor camp has been expanded and improved this year for camping and vehicle loading and unloading access. The aggressive battles both days will allow the respective commanders to utilize their leadership abilities. The activities planned for the weekend include main battles both days at 2:00 p.m., period dance, medical demonstrations, cavalry competition, ladies tea, a civilian refugee camp, period church services and a memorial service at the Confederate cemetery. Handicapped parking is available but the original battlefield terrain may still be difficult for some. Major Civil War parks located within minutes of the reenactment site will be open. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the preservation efforts of the Friends of Resaca Battlefield, Inc. A $150.00 bounty will be paid to the first fourteen 57 inch cannon and crews registered by May 1st. The reenactor registration fee is $10.00 if received by May 1, 2019.
