December 9, 2016 – December 12, 2016 all-day

Sponsored by The Sons of Confederate Veterans, Pvt. George W. Thomas SCV Camp #1595. Hosted by the 8th Florida Company C and 75th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Location Savanna Recreational Area, 1400 East Midway Road in Fort Pierce. School day help needed on  Friday, Dec. 9th.  Battles Saturday at 2 pm and Sunday at 1pm. Saturday – Ladies’ Tea 11:00 and Ball on Saturday night with refreshments.  We need Cavalry for school day at least and Artillery welcome.  Powder ration for first two Union and Confederated artillery pieces registered. Firewood provided.  We need more reenactors on the field please to keep our event going. This is the best Small event on the east coast of Florida don’t just hear about it be a part of history. Children learn about what the War Between the States was all about, how soldiers and civilians went about every day without the conveniences. Awards for best camp, Directions I-95 to exit #126.  This is Midway Road (SR 712).  Go east approximately 5.5 miles to Savanna county Park (park on left side of road).  If traveling from west coast, you can take SR 60 or SR70 to I-95 then travel south to exit #126 and follow above directions.  Modern RV campers with hook up for RV’s (fee charged) call  the Savaannas Recreational Area at 772-464-7855 for reservations and cost.  Hot water showers, laundry and indoor bathrooms.
